The stage is approximately 33 feet wide by 30 feet deep and the height is 11 feet (9 foot3” upstage). There is no front curtain but a black curtain approximately 16 feet from the apron can create a smaller, more intimate performing space. The theatre has two large dressing rooms with washrooms and showers, which can each hold approximately 10 performers. There is limited storage and wing space. Lighting and basic sound equipment are provided with rental. The theatre is also equipped to accommodate film and video projection. A large convenient lobby can be used for conferences and receptions. Technician and House Manager provided with rental and Box Office services available. The theatre is one of two primary venues for the Drama Centre. During the year it will house classes, theatrical and dance performances as well as readings, film screenings, workshops and conferences. It is available for rental to U of T and community groups as available around the Centre’s activities. The Theatre is not wheelchair accessible. Studio Theatre
4 Glen Morris Street (also known as the Glen Morris Theatre) Box Office: 416-978-7986 Rental: Luella Massey Facilities Coordinator/Box Office Manager l.massey@utoronto.ca or 416-978-7987 Glen Morris Street is one block north of Harbord St and runs one way east off Spadina Avenue A former Russian orthodox church, the Studio is now a flexible studio space with a maximum seating capacity of 90. This space has two small dressing rooms. There is limited storage and wing space. Basic lighting (manual lighting board) and sound equipment are provided with rental. Technicians and House Manager are provided with rental. Box office services available. While the Centre’s scene shop is located in the basement, it is not available for rental or use by other companies. The Studio Theatre is the smaller of two venues housing the Graduate Centre for Study of Drama’s activities. During the year it will hold theatrical and dance performances as well as readings, workshops and conferences. It is available for rental to U of T and community groups as available around the Centre’s activities. The Theatre is not wheelchair accessible and not air-conditioned.
